Nike Meetz

Hey guys! I selected Nike because it is one of the world’s leading athletic apparel and footwear companies. Nike has built its reputation through innovative products, strong athlete partnerships, and a commitment to inspiring people to live active lifestyles. As someone who has worn Nike clothing and basketball shoes for years while growing up in New York City, I have personally experienced the brand’s quality both on the basketball court and in everyday life. However, with increasing competition from brands like Lululemon, Gymshark, Adidas, Under Armour, and several other athlesiure brands, Nike must continue finding new ways to connect with customers. My product concept is Nike Meetz, a community-based running program that organizes weekly running groups by geographic areas. For example, New York City could have separate groups in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Participants would register through the Nike Run Club app, join local meetups, train for races together, earn rewards, and connect with other runners. Rather than focusing only on selling products, Nike Meetz would strengthen customer relationships by creating a fitness community centered around the Nike brand. The primary research objective is to determine whether consumers would participate in Nike Meetz and whether the program would increase customer loyalty. Additional objectives include identifying which age groups are most interested, understanding what features participants value most, measuring willingness to attend weekly events, and determining whether participation would increase future Nike purchases. These insights will help Nike evaluate both customer demand and the program’s business potential. To answer these research questions, Nike would use a mixed-method research design that combines qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative portion would consist of focus groups and interviews with current Nike customers, recreational runners, and marathon participants. These discussions would provide valuable feedback about consumer expectations, motivations, and suggestions for improving the concept before launch. The quantitative portion would involve distributing online surveys through the Nike Run Club app, email campaigns, and social media. The surveys would collect measurable data on customer interest, preferred locations, attendance frequency, reward preferences, and purchasing behavior. Combining both research methods would give Nike a complete understanding of customer opinions while also providing data that can support business decisions. Research supports this approach because experiential marketing and community engagement have been shown to strengthen customer loyalty. Nike has already demonstrated success through digital platforms like the Nike Run Club app, and Nike Meetz expands that experience by bringing runners together in person. As consumers increasingly value health, wellness, and meaningful brand experiences, Nike Meetz offers an opportunity to build stronger relationships while encouraging long-term engagement with the brand. Overall, Nike Meetz represents an innovative way for Nike to combine community, fitness, and customer engagement. Through a well-designed marketing research plan, Nike can evaluate consumer interest, improve the program before launch, and determine whether it can become a valuable addition to the company’s long-term marketing strategy. The research will focus on adults between the ages of 18 and 45 who regularly exercise or are interested in beginning a fitness routine. The goal is to learn how large this market is, whether it is continuing to grow, and what customers expect from a community fitness program. Research will also examine how consumers currently meet these needs through local running clubs, gyms, or fitness apps and what they like or dislike about those options. Surveys will measure interest in Nike Meetz, while focus groups will provide detailed feedback about preferred meeting locations, rewards, scheduling, and overall experience. This mixed research design will help Nike understand whether customers would participate and what features would make the program successful.
